World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO)

Global Recycled Standards (GRS)

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification is designed to verify recycled content in products and ensure adherence to environmental and social standards.

For a product to be certified requires having a minimum percentage of recycled content, limiting hazardous chemicals, and being water and energy efficient. The Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI)

The Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI) is an initiative that connects marginalized artisans and micro-enterprises, especially in developing countries, with the global fashion industry. It aims to create sustainable livelihoods while promoting ethical practices in fashion production.

Certified Organic

Certified Organic products are those that meet specific standards set by organic certification bodies, ensuring they are produced without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), or artificial additives.

In agriculture, organic certification involves practices that promote soil health, biodiversity, and ecological balance. For textiles and other products, certification ensures that they are made from organic materials and processed without harmful chemicals.

Different regions have their own certifying organizations and standards, such as the USDA Organic label in the United States or the EU Organic logo in Europe.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)

LEED certification is a globally recognized rating system that recognizes buildings and communities for being environmentally friendly and energy-efficient. The certification ensures that workers are paid fair wages, work in safe conditions, and have access to benefits and opportunities for skill development. Textile Exchange

The Textile Exchange is a global nonprofit organization that focuses on driving sustainability in the textile industry by promoting the use of preferred materials such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, and responsible wool, which have a lower environmental impact than conventional alternatives.
